Requirements for the Minor

The minor in African American Studies is granted to the student who meets the University requirement for graduation with a bachelor's degree and has completed at least eighteen (18) hours of course work in African American Studies. In addition to the two required courses: Ethnic Studies 2500 and Ethnic Studies 2550 (a total of 6 hours), the student must take four courses (a total of 12 hours), selected from four of the five categories listed below. Consultation with an Ethnic Studies advisor is required.
